Applications are invited for Trinidad and Tobago Government scholarship available for the academic year commencing 2015. Eligibility: To apply for this scholarship, applicants must:

-Be citizens of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and must not be a permanent resident of another country;
-Be between 18 to 25 years;
-Possess the following minimum qualifications: At least five (5) Ordinary Level subjects (CSEC/GCE), with Grades I or II / A or This must include English, Mathematics and Physics.

Scholarship Description: The Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago invites ONLINE applications from citizens of Trinidad and Tobago for scholarships being offered by the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources- Meteorological Services Division, for the academic year commencing 2014.

Duration of award(s): Scholarships will be awarded for a period of Nine (9) months entry level training. All scholars will be required to complete their programme of study in the least possible time as stipulated by the academic institution and approved by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration.

What does it cover? The following payments are made under this scholarship programme and are subject to the approval of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration (Scholarships and Advanced Training Division):

Applicants must pass the interview with at least 50%, in order to be considered for the scholarship.

Selection Criteria: Applicants will be assessed and recommended for a scholarship on the following:
-Academic Merit
-Likely Development Impact Applicant will have on Completion of Studies.
-This is based on technical advice from the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources.
-Work Experience
-Interview – short-listed candidates will be interviewed to get a sense of their maturity, commitment, adaptability, cultural awareness, and their state of mind in relation to the undertaking of studies locally or overseas and their ability to complete the programme of study successfully.

Notification: The Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobagoreserves the right to publish the names of candidates selected for Scholarships. By applying for a scholarship, the candidate gives consent for such publication in the event that his/her application is successful. All scholars will be required to complete their programme of study in the least possible time possible as stipulated by the academic institution.

How to Apply: Applicants must ensure that their transcripts are sent directly (Attention: Head, Selections Secretariat). Applicants who wish to hand deliver their transcripts must ensure that this document is properly sealed by the academic institution and submitted to the Selections Secretariat. Applicants must provide two (2) References (using the online system) recommending the candidate for a scholarship. The online application requires all applicants to prepare and submit a Written Essay which explains in no more than 400 words. Applicants must upload the following documents to their ‘Online’ application:
-Copies of Academic Certificates, Degrees of Diplomas
-Proof of acceptance/enrollment at an academic institution
-Copy of Birth Certificate (with affidavit where necessary)
-Copy of Proof of Change of Name (where necessary)
-Copy of relevant bio data page from valid Trinidad and Tobago Passport. If this is not available, a copy of Electoral Identification Card (back and front)
-Persons born outside of Trinidad and Tobago must provide evidence of citizenship (copy) and residency
-Applicants who are Public Officers must upload a signed letter from their
-Permanent Secretary/Head of Department indicating that they have no disciplinary matters pending
-Any further documents which you prepared and which provides greater insight into your course of study.
